Take the Flower Cruise to see the cherry blossoms in Japan

If you are lucky enough to travel to Japan during the month of April, there is a chance for you to see the awesome cherry blossoms. Hanami is the name for a Japanese spring ritual that involves picnicking among these lively blossoms.  But there is more.  What if you could travel to the cherry blossoms aboard a floral-themed ship?

This vessel known as the Flower Cruise will take you throughout the country on a week-long flower scavenger hunt. This is the confirmed plans of Princess Cruises with its upcoming Spring Flower Cruise.

The three confirmed Spring Flower voyages depart in April.  The cruise adventure will provide guests access to Japan's largest tulip fair and five port stops, all of them with amazing and picturesque cherry blossom viewing sites.  The itinerary will take travelers to Japan's best-known sites:  Izumo Grand Shrine, the “land of sake,” and of course, Mount Fuji.

Departure is from Yokohama, sailing across the Kanmon Straits to Busan in South Korea, Sakaiminato, Tsuruga, and Akita in Japan.  Right after this, it returns to the first port. The seven-day trip to the five ports starts at $800 US per person.

Princess Cruises also announced new long routes departing from Tokyo and Kobe in 2018.  “We are honored to bring guests more departures and visits to top-rated ports in 2018 than ever before,” said Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises.

“Through local cultural entertainment and culinary experiences to our purpose-made ship specific to Japan; our guests are sure to enjoy the most of this storied country at sea with Princess.”

This flower-themed cruise is definitively a great way to take a special hanami trip to experience the breath-taking flower blooms.
