Delta’s all-suite business class

Delta’s all-suite business class

Last month, Delta announced its exclusive all-suite business class. The new feature will make its debut on the fall of 2017.  This is the world´s first all-suite business class.  Airbus A350 will feature 32 suites, each one equipped with a full-height sliding door, which is not a new feature in international first class but it is a first in business class. By 2020, Delta hopes to add the suites to the Boeing 777.

The suite offers every customer a private experience of having their own space.  The suite features personal stowage areas, in-fight entertainment systems with premium seating.

"Delta constantly listens to customers and responds with products that deliver what they want. After setting the standard with the introduction of full flat-bed seats with direct aisle access in 2008, Delta is again elevating the international business class experience,” Tim Mapes, Delta's (DAL) senior vice president and chief marketing officer, said in a press release.  “Added comfort and privacy are important to business travelers, and that drove the design of the all-new Delta One suite."

Every suite will have access to the main aisle, which means no jumping over people to go to the washroom. Besides everything mentioned above, there are other features that every space will include:

  • Customizable ambient lighting
  • Stowage compartments for shoes, laptops, and headphones
  • Memory foam cushions on flat bed sheets
  • Direct access to the aisle
  • Universal power outlet and USB ports

Delta has made it clear that the suites will not have different pricing than the usual hybrid first/business class. Tim Mapes points this out saying that “this is a product upgrade, not a price upgrade.”
